Robi develops retailers in partnership with IFC

Robi has trained 238 retailers under a Retailer Development Programme being carried out in partnership with International Finance Corporation, IFC.

IFC’s proprietary training product was used to conduct the training while Sheba limited is the execution partner for the initiative.

Robi’s retailers from Dhaka, Narayangonj, Keraniganj, Gazipur, Tangail and Chittagong took PR Picturepart in the training programme.

Robi believes this would open an avenue for retailers to develop their business and attain success.

The development initiative is divided into two workshops. The first workshop was focused on discussing the impact of attitudes on success, importance and implication of positive, creative and entrepreneurial thinking, basics of time management skill and decision making as an entrepreneur.

Also discussed were the basics of marketing & sales: customer management skills, customer care practices, understanding competitor activities, sales development/ promotional skills and action plan development.

The second workshop focused on cost management tools and techniques, benefits of savings habits, importance of working around business targets and how to make sales plan to achieve targets. At the end of the training each retailer prepared their own action plan in line with the new skills the acquired.

In voicing opinion about the retailer development programme, one of the participating retailers, Roman Ahmed of RR Telecom from Kharoil, Tongi, Gazipur, said, “I would like to thank the training organizers for such an enlightening event for retailers. I am confident that this training will help us develop and advance our business to achieve growth.”

Robi and IFC had signed a cooperation agreement in March 2016, which paved the way for undertaking this retailer development initiative. The overall knowledge from this event will help organizers scale up initiative, allowing a greater number of retailers from all over the country to take advantage of world class retailer development practices.
