Eminent Banker Mr. Md. Monjerul Islam joined Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) as Deputy Managing Director recently. Prior to his joining he was the General Manager of Janata Bank Limited.
Mr. Monjerul Islam started his banking career in June 1983 as Senior Officer in Janata Bank Limited and served 
there for 32 years in various capacities. Before join to Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. he was the General Manager at Local office of Janata Bank Ltd. from 2013.
Mr. Islam was born in a respectable Muslim family in 1956 at kurigram district. He received his B.Com (Hons.) and M.Com Degree from the department of Marketing, University of Dhaka. He received training in Banking and Finance held in home and abroad and participated to many seminars, workshops and symposiums relating to Banking and Finance.
While working in Janata Bank Limited he was awarded for the Best Manager, Best Deposit Collector and Best Loan Recovery Drive Manager.
