ICAEW discusses renewal of MoU with ICAB

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) held a meeting on strategy progress, implementation and updates of MoU with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city on Saturday.

Member Council ICAB, Md Abdus Salam FCA, President presided over the meeting while Martin Batsford, Head of Operations, Professional Standards ICAEW,  Jonathon Worrell, Senior Business Development Manager ICAEW, Suraiya Zannat Khan FCA, Sr. Financial Management Specialist, the World Bank Bangladesh were present on the occasion.

Mou with ICAEWICAB is the learning partner of the English Institute; the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and expecting the renewal of MoU as ICAB has remarkable trend of progress in its pursuit of professional excellence, says a press release.

ICAB is following ICAEW exam policy, number of students and members have increased, ICAB’s financial strength is stronger than before, ICAB has now become more vibrant in providing tuition, training and CPD program for its members.

Moreover, ICAB is the compliant of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) SMO. The Quality Assurance Department (QAD) section of ICAB is also pro-active to ensure that the Chartered Accountants Firms are complying all the regulations related to audit practices.

It is also mentioned that ICAB is the member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). ICAB has also Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with CPA Ireland signed in 2012.

Nationally, ICAB has been working together with the office of CAG under an MoU. ICAB is regular training provider to the officials of Central Bank of Bangladesh, National Board of Revenue (NBR).
