A two day-long annual business development conference of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was inaugurated on Thursday at a local Hotel in the city.
Eng. Mustafa Anwar, Acting Chairman of the Bank was present in the Conference as Chief Guest while Engr. Md. Eskandar Ali Khan and Professor NRM Borhan Uddin, Ph.D, Chairman, Audit Committee were present in the function as special guests.
Presided over by Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Bank the Conference was attended among others by Humayn Bokhteyar, ACPA, AFCA and Md. Abul Hossain, Directors. Muhammad Abul Bashar, Md. Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, FCA, AKM Abdul Malek Chowdhury, Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Rafi Ahmed Begh, Nurul Islam Khalifa, Deputy Managing Directors, Head Office Executives, Zonal Heads and Managers of 286 Branches of the Bank were present on the occasion. Mohd. Shamsul Haque, Deputy Managing Directors of the Bank delivered the welcome address.
It was disclosed in the conference that Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has been able to hold the leading positions in deposit, investment and foreign exchange business in private banking sector. The total Deposit reached at Tk.47327 crore and total Investment reached at Tk. 48384 crore up to 31 December 2013. Foreign exchange business of the Bank was 77812 crore including import Tk.28589 crore, export Tk. 20527 crore and remittance Tk. 28696 crore.
