Evely Chairman released from jail

Shamima Nasrin, Evely's Chairman, was released from prison today. She was released from Kashimpur Women's Central Jail today at 5:45 pm. The senior superintendent of jail, Halima Khatun, confirmed this news to the media. She said that she had been lodged in Kashimpur Women's Central Jail since September 21 in a case filed by Dhanmondi Police Station. He was released on Wednesday afternoon after the bail papers arrived at the jail on Tuesday.

Islamic speaker Taheri filed a case for propaganda

On allegations of promoting propaganda via social media, Islamic speaker Mufti Gias Uddin Taheri filed a complaint in a Sylhet court on Thursday. Around 12 p.m., he lodged a complaint against 15 individuals before the Sylhet Cyber Tribunal. The information was corroborated by Taheri's attorney, Saifur Rahman.

According to the complaint, Islamic speaker Taheri was accused of accepting Rs 33,000 in advance for holding a mahfil in Baliganj, Sylhet. The mahfil's organising committee, on the other hand, advertised the location and featured Taheri's photo on the banner and on the posters.

Shafiuddin Ahmed made new army chief

Lieutenant General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, quarter master general of the Bangladesh Army, has been named as the new chief of the Bangladesh Army for the next three years, reports BSS. “Bangladesh Army’s BA-2496 Lieutenant General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, OSP, NDU, PSC, Quarter Master General has been appointed as the new chief of Bangladesh Army from June 24 afternoon,” a defence ministry statement said. He will also be promoted to the rank of general on that day, the gazette, signed by deputy secretary, Wahida Sultana, added. He will replace current army chief General Aziz Ahmed.
