Bangladesh will host the 12th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP), said Health Secretary MM Niaz Uddin on Thursday.
He said this at a press briefing at Bangladesh Secretariat organized to celebrate the Worlds Aids Day on December 1 next.
The health secretary said Bangladesh has been elected as a host country in the 11 ICAAP conference held few days back at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Thai capital Bangkok where more than 3000 participants from 80 countries attended.
In the four-day meet was held Nov 18-22, Niaz Uddin said, the conference extensively discussed how to control HIV infections, AIDS deaths and stigma as well as discrimination associated with it.
