Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) awarded scholarship among the brilliant and poor students of the country. In this regard scholarship award giving ceremony has been organized on 28th May 2016 at Officers Club, Dhaka. The 500 students from different Colleges, Medical Colleges and Universities received the Scholarship for their brilliant result. Each student receives taka twenty thousand for SSC level and taka twenty five thousand for HSC level in onetime basis. Since 2006 Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. is disbursing Scholarship among the poor and brilliant students.
The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited Mr. A. K. Azad presided over the ceremony 
while the Hon’ble Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith handed over the scholarship Cheque among the students as chief guest.
The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Foundation Mr. Engr. Md. Towhidur Rahman delivered welcome speech while the Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Farman R Chowdhury delivered speech at last and expressed his gratitude. The Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society & former MP, Mr. Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar, Former advisor of Caretaker Government Mr. Tapan Chowdhury and member of Dhaka University Alumni Association Karjonirbahi Committee Mrs. Selina Khalek were also delivered speech as an invited guest in the ceremony.
Among others Directors Mr. Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Md. Shahjahan Shiraj, Mr. M. Akhter Hossain, Mr. Abdul Aziz, Executives of the Head Office and scholarship awarded students were present in the ceremony.
The Hon’ble Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said, it is a praiseworthy and notable work that Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. rendering its activities towards the welfare of mankind as a part of CSR activities besides the financial activities of the Bank. It is also praiseworthy to make an opportunity for the brilliants to make easy the way of their higher study. The Financial institutions of the Country are playing a significant role for the Economic Advancement of the Country besides building the nation. He also urges to the brilliant to do well in future. He also said, Education is the process by which a student can enters into the world of knowledge.
The Chairman of the Bank Mr. A. K. Azad said, contribution of Shahjalal Islami Bank is remarkable to the economic growth of the country and the bank is rendering lots of social activities as its CSR activities. The brilliants are contributing to build up an enrich Nation along with the national economic growth of the country. The young brilliant students of our country are acquiring dignity both in the home and abroad by dint of their merits. The brilliants will be turned into valuable assets in our country if they are given proper financial opportunity. Shahjalal Islami Bank will always stand beside these brilliant students.
The Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Farman R Chowdhury indicated in his speech that Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. is working for the development of the country since its operation inception.
