Around 200,000 Bangladeshis in UAE facing MRP crisis

An estimated 200,000 Bangladeshis in the UAE have to convert their handwritten passports to Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) in the next five months, a top Bangladeshi diplomat has told Gulf News. The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has set a deadline of November 24, 2015 for globally phasing out all passports that are not Machine Readable. JU dormitories to remain closed for 10 days

The authority of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has decided to keep the students’ dormitories fully vacant for 10 days during the Eid Holidays to evade any unpredictable incident.
