The government has appointed four new directors to the state-owned BASIC Bank Board of Directors for the next three years. AIBL signs deal with Dhaka WASA

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited (AIBL) has signed “Water & Sewerage Online Bill” agreement with Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA). The Agreement was signed between Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited and WASA on Saturday (5 July) at the Board Room of Al-Arafah Islami Bank. Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Managing Director of the Bank was present in the ceremony while Deputy Managing Director of the Bank Md. Mofazzar Hossain and Commercial Manager of Dhaka WASA Engr. Uttam Kumar Roy handed over the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Tax-to-GDP ratio is very low in Bangladesh: IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that further efforts are needed in Bangladesh to raise on a permanent basis the ratio of tax to gross domestic product (GDP), with particular importance placed on the introduction of a value-added tax (VAT). Library movement helps reading habits in villages

A non-profit platform in Bangladesh is aiding in the setup and sustenance of libraries in remote districts and villages of the country.
